Looking for a cocktail that’s as fun to look at as it is to drink? The Tropical Rainbow Paradise is your show-stopper. With layers of fruity flavor and eye-popping color, this drink will light up any summer gathering. Best of all? It’s easier to make than it looks — no bartending degree required.

Ingredients
-
1 oz Grenadine (for the red layer)
-
3 oz Pineapple Juice (yellow layer)
-
1 oz Blue Curaçao (blue layer)
-
2 oz Malibu Coconut Rum
-
1 oz Kiwi or Melon Liqueur (green layer, optional for effect)
-
Ice cubes
-
Garnish: Cherry, pineapple wedge, kiwi slice
Instructions
-
Start with the grenadine:
Pour 1 oz of grenadine into the bottom of a tall glass. It’s heavy and will stay at the bottom. -
Add ice to the top:
Fill the glass with ice all the way up — this helps keep the layers separated. -
Layer the pineapple juice:
Slowly pour 3 oz of pineapple juice over the back of a spoon to gently float it on top of the grenadine. -
Add Malibu rum:
Pour 2 oz of Malibu Coconut Rum slowly over the pineapple juice. It’ll blend lightly but still show separation. -
Layer the blue curaçao:
Mix 1 oz of blue curaçao with a splash of water or lemonade to lighten it, then slowly pour it over the spoon to create the top blue layer. -
Optional green layer:
For a rainbow effect, carefully float 1 oz of kiwi or melon liqueur between the yellow and blue layers. -
Garnish and serve:
Add a cherry, pineapple wedge, and a kiwi slice to the rim for that tropical finish.
Notes
-
Layering trick: Always pour slowly over a spoon and use ice — the more dense the liquid, the lower it will sink.
-
Non-alcoholic version: Use fruit juices like cranberry, mango, lemonade, and blue sports drink for a family-friendly version.
-
Chill your ingredients beforehand to prevent colors from mixing.
-
Serve immediately to preserve the visual layers.
